Weber Genesis S-320 Propane Gas Grill Review
The Weber Genesis S-320 is virtually identical to its E-320 counterpart with the main difference being that more stainless steel has been used in the grills construction, the grill runs on propane and is more popular than its natural gas counterpart. In some parts of the country propane costs less than natural gas and you can get more cooking done with it.
It’s fair to say the S-320 is not the most expensive grill in the Weber range and yes you will find more features in the Summit series; regardless of this many of the grills in the Weber 300 series have proven to be the more popular choice amongst grill enthusiasts.
There’s no reason the S-320 can’t be used for laying on a good spread as it has pretty much everything needed, the primary cooking area for the grill is 507 square inches and rather than having porcelain enamelled cooking grates like the E-320 Weber uses stainless steel for this one. The cooking grates have 7mm diameter rods that are rust resistant and they conduct heat evenly.
There are two stainless steel work surfaces on the grill that you can make use of during the preparation of your food, if you are cooking for large numbers and want everyone to eat at the same time you can make use of the grills 130 square inch warming rack. The grill can produce plenty of heat and in total you can get up to 42,000 BTU’s per hour from its main burners, the grill also has a handy side burner for cooking your non grilled foods such as sauces, beans or custard for deserts.
As with other grills in the Genesis 300 series the S-320 uses the Weber Crossover ignition system, the system enables you to grill food the way you want it with the use of either direct or indirect heat. There are six tool hooks positioned on the grills shelf for keeping your utensils handy while your cooking, while your cooking you can determine the grills temperature at a glance with the use of the thermometer built into its hood.
The main body of the grill sits on four swivelling casters and the two at the front are lockable for securing it in place, there is also an enclosed area at the bottom of the grill for holding your LP tank and it has its own fuel gauge, like all grills in the 300 series you can fit the S-320 with an optional motorised rotisserie for spit roasting your food.
