Weber Genesis E-320 Natural Gas Grill Review

Weber Genesis E-320 Natural Gas GrillThe Weber Genesis E-320 is the ideal piece of hardware for the avid grill enthusiast with this particular model being the natural gas version, this version E-320 will prove useful if you don’t want to deal with gas tanks or if a natural gas grill is simply a better alternative for you than a liquid propane grill.

Many people choose this Weber natural gas grill as it gives them the option to have it connected to their homes gas supply eliminating the need for a tank, the E-320 falls in the middle of the Spirit and Summit series of Weber grills and has proven to be a popular choice.

All the basics necessary for preparing a substantial spread can be found on the grill with the first one being its main cooking area that is 507 square inches in size, the grill has porcelain enamelled cast iron cooking grates and a 130 square inch warming rack you can make use of at times when you’re entertaining large numbers.

As with other Weber grills the E-320 includes Flavorizer bars that can be used to infuse smoke into your food, the Flavorizer bars work by burning off the excess fat in the meat or fish you’re cooking and this produces smoke.  By keeping the grills lid closed while you’re cooking the smoke gives your food that authentic rich flavor you get when you’re eating out at grill restaurants.

If you want to do spit roasting the E-320 can accommodate a motorised rotisserie that you can add on later, you can also cook beans, sauces and other side dishes at the grill as it includes a 12,000 BTU side burner that saves you the trouble of having to cook at two stations.

A ten-foot flexible hose is included with this version of the grill for connecting it to your gas supply and it also has six tool hooks for keeping your cooking utensils handy, you can also move the grill around easily on flat surfaces as it sits on four swivel casters and two of these are lockable for securing it in place.

The E-320 has three stainless steel burners under its main cooking area that can produce up to 42,000 BTU’s and two stainless steel work surfaces, if you like grilling and want a grill that will start quickly and can withstand the rigours of continual use then the E-320 is a wise choice.

Weber Smokey Mountain 18.5 Inch New Version Review

Weber Smokey Mountain 18 Point 5 Inch SmokerThe Weber 721001 Smokey Mountain cooker is the successor to the Weber Smokey Mountain 2820 and has a number of subtle improvements, you can use the smoker to cook turkey, ham, fish or vegetables with the use of either charcoal or wood.  In truth there was never a great deal to improve as the 2820 is still a great smoker, if you need to replace your Smokey Mountain or have never tried one of the Smokers then the new model is the best choice due to the new features.

If you ever cook ribs in the Smokey Mountain you’ll never want to go back to making them using traditional means as it gives results just as good as a grill restaurant, after your ribs are cooked you can make out a pink smoke ring in the meat and they taste absolutely fantastic.

The first improvement in the new model of the Weber smoker is its fuel door that is wider than the one found on its predecessor, you can load charcoal and wood into the smoker much more easily due to the size of the door and the door-knob used on the previous model has been replaced with a more practical spring loaded latch.

The addition of a thermometer is also a significant improvement not found on the old smoker so you can determine its temperature much more easily, the previous Smokey Mountain also had no catch pan for the ash from fuel so you had to take more care while emptying it.

That pretty much covers the improvements found in the Smoker and in terms of performance they are virtually the same, like the old model the smokers lid and water pan are porcelain enamelled, the thermometer is placed conveniently in the center of the lid.  The Smokey Mountain has the capacity to accommodate a reasonable amount of food so if you need to cook two whole chickens at once you’ll have no problems.

If you enjoy slow cooking and smoking your likely to enjoy experimenting with the Smokey Mountain due to its simple design and the fact that you can cook with it using a variety of fuels, keeping the door closed while you’re cooking with the smoker brings the best results and flavor so try to avoid the temptation of opening it.  If you like marinating your meat then the Smokey Mountain is the smoker to cook it in, if you’re not an expert at smoking food you can use a Smokey Mountain, a bit of practice and a few recipes to become proficient in next to no time.
