The Charbroil Heatwave grill is somewhat different to standard open flame grills in that it cooks your food using infrared technology, infrared technology on grills of this type enable you to sear steaks on the outside while the inside retains more of its natural moisture and juices.
The grill has an infrared emitter situated right above its burners and this conducts heat straight towards its cast iron cooking grates, as with other grills in the range the Charbroil Heatwave does a great job of grilling burgers and steaks so red meat lovers will be in their element.
If you own a gas barbecue grill and have always had trouble setting the temperature you’ll get lots of practical use out of the preset cooking functions on this Charbroil grill, you can use the preset functions for searing, grilling or for barbecuing your favorite foods just the way you want.
Unlike other gas grills it’s recommended that you use wood with the Heatwave if you want to add unique smoky flavors, it’s nice to have the option of adding wood to the grill and a few mesquite or hickory chips can make the world of difference to your foods flavor.
There are three burners under the grills main cooking area and it has a flush mounted side burner that can produce up to 13,000 BTU’s, the side burner comes in handy and saves you having to power up your cooker for making pasta, rice or other dishes you may want with your food. A work surface is attached to the opposite side of the grill that you can make use of while preparing your meals; the Heatwave also has its own electronic ignition system for fast and easy start-ups.
As standard the Heatwave runs on liquid propane but it can easily be converted to run on natural gas if this is your preference, while LP offers longer cooking times connecting a natural gas conversion kit to the grill could spell the end of you needing to maintain a gas tank.
You can cook a significant amount of food on the Heatwave as its main cooking area is 500 square inches in size, the grill also has a 200 square inch warming rack that should come in handy when you’re entertaining large numbers.
