Weber Spirit E-210 Propane Gas Grill Review

There’s no denying that the E-210 offers considerable value especially when comparing its price to the grills found in the Summit series, if you’re on a budget but don’t want to deny yourself a decent grill then the E-210 is a wise choice not only because of its price but also due to the fact that it should last for considerable time.

The grill has a stainless steel work surface and 2 stainless steel burners that produce significant heat, the grills cooking area is 350 square inches in size so there should be no problems cooking multiple portions of food at once.

The grill lacks a side burner but still has the standard Weber Flavoriser bars and porcelain enamelled cooking grates, you can also use the grill for spit roasting by attaching a rotisserie to it which is an optional accessory.

The Weber Q 320 offers cooks a no fuss good value means of grilling a sufficient amount of food for a barbecue, obviously there’s no charcoal to clear up since the grill runs on gas and you can have it ready in as little as five minutes.

You can start up the grill in an instant with its battery powered electronic ignition system, the  grills ignition system is efficient and works by triggering the outer burner that then activates the burner in the center.

As far as cooking capacity goes you can fit a fair deal on the grill so if you have about 5 friends around you can whip up some quarter pounders or hot dogs in a pinch, the grill has the space for cooking up to two whole chickens at once and although its fairly compact it has its own warming rack.

The great thing about the Weber Q is how versatile the grill is in that you can set it up in a snap and you can take it virtually anywhere you like, instead of going on a day trip with sandwiches you can make anything from salmon in lemon and dill to tapenade pork loin.

The Q 320 has a few improvements over the previous Q models one of which is the shelf system, the shelves for the new grill are collapsible making it slightly easier to carry than its predecessor, the shelves on the previous grills in the series are set in a fixed position.

The stationary cart is a lot more stable than it may seem at first glance as it holds itself firmly in place, gas tanks give the grill additional stability and lock firmly into position underneath it.

You can turn off the inner burner for the grill so you can cook food on it using indirect heat, the grill also has a handy handle light that turns itself on and off automatically when you open and close the lid.

The grill has a built in thermometer and is designed to run on 20lb liquid propane gas tanks, at maximum the burners can produce up to 21,700 BTU’s per hour and it has infinite control burner valves.

There are two cast iron cooking grates on the Q 320 and these have a porcelain enamelled finish, while the Q 320 doesn’t have all of the cooking features found on larger grills in the Weber range it’s still a great piece of kit due to its portability and ease of use.

The Weber Spirit E-210 is another grill created by Weber suitable for grill enthusiasts who are on a tight budget, the Spirit E-210 may not come with a side burner or rotisserie but it’s still more than sufficient for grilling a meal for the family.

There are two stainless steel burners included with the grill that are found under its 350 square inch main cooking area, the E-210 clearly isn’t the largest of grills in the Weber range but you can still load it up with a fair amount of food, this version of the grill runs on liquid propane which gives it an extended cooking time but there is also a version that runs on natural gas.

A warming rack is also included with the E-210 that can be used for maintaining the temperature of your food or for warming up burger buns, while the grill runs on gas you can expect to see degree of smoke while you’re cooking and this give your food a more authentic taste.

As with many other Weber grills the Spirit series includes Flavorizer bars on its cooking surface, the Flavorizer bars burn up excess fat on your food and if you keep the lid closed the smoke produced infuses your food with extra flavor.

The E-210 has an electronic crossover ignition system and you have total control over the temperature of the burners, due to the burner controls you can use the grill to cook food with either direct or indirect heat making it ideal for slow cooking.

Directly opposite the grills burner controls is a stainless steel surface that you can make use of while preparing your food, the temperature gauge is situated in the center of the grills lid so you can easily determine how hot it’s running.

The grill also has tool hooks on the end of its work surface so you can keep spatulas and tongs handy while your cooking, cleaning the grill doesn’t take too much effort and since it runs on liquid propane rather than charcoal the job is even easier.

Excess waste filters down into the grills disposable drip pans so unless you have a major spillage a quick wipe down should be more than sufficient after you’ve finished cooking, you can move the E-210 around quite easily as it sits on four heavy duty casters and two of these are lockable so you can secure it in position.

At maximum the E-210 can produce up to 26,000 BTU’s per hour with the use of its main burners, the grill can also be used for spit roasting legs of lamb or chicken as it can accommodate a rotisserie.

The rotisserie for the Weber Spirit is motorized so once you have it set up you can leave it to turn your food on its own, all in all the E-210 is a well built piece of hardware; although it’s cheap in comparison to other grills in the Weber range you will likely be cooking on it for years to come.
